Best Shipper Scenes Season 5
Becky was kind enough to find shipper scenes for season 5. Below is her note that I wanted to share with all of you. Thanks Becky!!
Author's Note: Well, there were precious few shipper scenes during season 5. Some of the following scenes may be stretching it a bit to actually be called a "shipper" scene. But in a desert, ANY drop of water can be refreshing!
The following JAG Production Notes from Donald Bellisario sums up this season in his own words...
"We're going in a slightly different direction this season," explains Bellisario. "It's a bit like turning an aircraft carrier, because you have to look way down
the sea lane, but I think Harm and Mac were getting too close. So we're going to put some distance between them, while keeping the tension."
And, distance, he did indeed put between the two. However, I'm not totally sure he succeeded in even "keeping the tension" between Harm and Mac. So what follows are some of the few shipper scenes that could be gleaned from season 5.
Rules of Engagement
Harm is a Naval Aviator on an aircraft carrier. Mac flies out to the carrier to conduct a JAG investigation. It's been several months since they have seen each other (although they've exchanged a few e-mails). Harm is there at the helo to greet Mac. They hug each other and Mac tells Harm that it's good to see him. Harm notices Mac's promotion to Lt. Colonel and teases her and they banter back and forth for a few minutes on her new promotion and his role as a Naval Aviator and not a JAG lawyer.

Front And Center
Harm is back at JAG and, before a staff meeting, the Admiral awards Harm his second Distinguished Flying Medal. Since Harm isn't married, his mother isn't present, and the Admiral is *$% sure unwilling, the Admiral asks Mac to "do the honors." Mac looks shocked but goes to give Harm a kiss on the cheek. As she leans up to kiss him, Harm replies, "Gently, Marine." Bud is shown in the background smiling at the two of them.

Harm notices Mac's interest in Mic after the staff meeting and follows her into the office to find out more. She says that they are just friends. Harm quickly replies that, "no man is interested in being friends with a woman that looks like you." Then he pauses and realizes how that sounds and so quickly adds, "except for me, our course. 'Cuz I'm like a brother..." But he isn't totally convincing on that point.

Harm feels bad for not believing Mac when she said that her and Mic are just friends. He goes to her and apologizes for imposing his perceptions of Brumby onto hers. He then tells her that it's clear that Brumby and her have no chemistry. She seems confused but accepts his apology.

Psychic Warriors
Mac is on the phone talking (to Chloe) as Harm walks in. Chloe asks Mac if she is dating "that bodacious Harmon Rabb yet?" Mac turns around and sees Harm standing there and gets embarrassed. She answers that that would not be appropriate. Chloe then tells that she dreamed that Harm and Mac got married and that she was the flower girl. She finishes the conversation by telling Mac that she loves her. Mac replies, "I love you, too. Chloe." As Harm is listening in, he seems worried as he hears Mac talk to someone she obviously loves and then seems relieved when he hears Mac say Chloe's name at the end. He then tells Mac that she has great maternal instincts. (Mac replies back that many more people tell her she has a great karate chop than maternal instincts.)

The Colonel's Wife
Okay, this scene maybe be stretching it a bit. Harm and Mac are in Columbia talking to a snitch for a drug lord. They want to pay him to pass along some false information. The snitch is flirting with Mac and, obviously, interested in her. Harm is getting irritated with the man and keeps moving in front of Mac until he is standing directly in front of her to keep the guy from eye-balling her up and down.

Life Or Death
Okay, this is another stretch and very subtle. The office staff is gathered in McMurphy's to wish Brumby farewell. As Mic is leaving, they all start singing "Waltzing Matilda." Harm notices that Mac isn't singing. He looks directly at her and raises his hand to her encouraging her to join in the singing. Mac responds and starts singing as well.

Boomerang, Part 2
Harm and Mac are planning on having dinner together and are on a ferry. They are both in civilian clothes (Mac is in Australia on vacation). Harm is a little confused and irritated at Mac for going topless (or so, he thinks) on the beach with Mic. He starts talking about how a man can never understand a woman. Mac realizes that Harm is talking about her and starts a serious conversation. When Harm tells Mac that she wouldn't go topless in front of him, she replies, "is that a request?"

Harm gets nervous and tries to change the subject by saying that the Australians wrote "Eternity" for New Year's Eve on the bridge they are crossing under. Mac looks directly in his eyes and asks if that's how long they are going to wait. She says that they are not in Washington and not even on the same continent. Harm replies that location doesn't change who they are but then says that he disagrees with himself sometimes.

Mac, still staring intently into Harm's eyes, states that Harm is just not ready to let go. Harm replies that he's not ready to let go yet. (indicating that he will, someday!) She realizes that he is just that way with her and Harm confirms that. Mac looks extremely sad but then realizes that she should be flattered (that he is unwilling to have a casual "one-night stand" with her). Harm looks tenderly into her eyes, calls her "Sarah" and says that she should be flattered. (This is only the second time that he's called her "Sarah"; the first being when she left JAG in "Impact." Another emotional moment for both of them.) They stare intently at each other and you can just feel the sexual tension.

After Mic and Harm have a fist fight, Bud, Mac and Harm are sitting together outside during a court recess. Bud is talking and Mac is interpreting what he says to Harm. Bud tells Mac that Harm and Mic "were fighting over you!" Mac refuses to interpret it and stands up and walks off (rather slowly and sensually). Harm doesn't know what Bud said, but that whatever it was sure struck a nerve in Mac.

As the group gets ready to leave Australia, Mac and Mic stay behind for a moment. Harm and AJ are walking towards the gate for their flight. AJ tells Harm not to look back, but Harm does.

Drop Zone
At the beginning of the show Harm is having a dream that Mac and Renee are boxing. Harm runs up to the ring and tries to send Mac and Renee to their corners. Mac tells Harm "Go to your corner Hormone".

At the office latter that morning, Harm stops Mac at the elevator. As they talk Harm is looking at Mac very strangely. Mac finally asks Harm what is the matter. Harm asks Mac if she had been in a fight. Mac can not figure where that question came from and tells Harm no. Harm tells make it looks like she has a bruise under her left eye. Mac rubs under her eye showing Harm it was just newsprint.

At the end of the show, Harm calls Lt. Singer into his office. He suspects her of having planted the confidential report in Mac's car. He tells Singer, "I don't know who put that report in the Colonel's car and I hope that I never find out. Because if I do, I will personally destroy that individual's career." Even though Harm and Mac aren't in this scene together, it's very obvious that Harm cares a great deal about Mac and is willing to protect her at all costs.

Surface Warfare
As our favorite JAG group is about the enter the Surface Warfare Ball Mic shows up. When Harm hears Mic's voice he turns and looks. Mic explains to Mac that he has reserved his commission and is moving to be near her. The look on Mac's face is one of shock. AJ tells the group to get moving. As the group walks towards the room Mac turns and looks for Harm. Harm turns and looks for Mac.
